Sherpa do Mar project celebrates in Leixões Port (Matosinhos) the second workshop on the challenges of entrepreneurship in the blue economy of the Galicia-North Portugal eurorregion
Within the framework of the POCTEP project "Sherpa do Mar", led by REDE, a working day was held in the UPTEC-Mar building in Leixões port (Matosinhos), attended by agents related to entrepreneurship and / or the sector marine-maritime, in addition to the partners participating in the project.
The meeting was opened by the Director for Business Development of UPTEC, Maria Oliveira, and the director of the Campus del Mar and the CIM, Daniel Rey. The purpose of the workshop was to continue the debate initiated in Vigo on November 28th on the challenges and needs of this sector in the field of entrepreneurship. To this end, Andrea Ogando, a member of REDE, disseminated among the attendees the objectives and activities that will be developed throughout the Sherpa do Mar project. Subsequently, from the perspective of the Northern region of Portugal, André Novas of the Portuguese Society of Innovação (SPi) presented the results of the Diagnosis of the marine-maritime sector and finally, Alberte Román of Campus do Mar was in charge of exposing the characterization of existing initiatives aimed at promoting new business projects.
In a second part of the day, a dynamic debate methodology based on co-creation was carried out in which all attendees participated. Based on the results of the Workshop held in Vigo, attendees deepened the challenges and opportunities detected to extract a series of desirable proposals in the field of entrepreneurship, related to issues such as fundraising, retention and attraction of talent, simplification of administrative procedures, specialization in emerging sectors or monitoring of activity in the sector, among others.
