REDE co-authors team has been awarded the prize for the best paper at the ACEDE-2023 International Conference.
The paper "On causality between successful internationalization and profitability: the case for the moderating effect of earliness in new ventures", co-authored by PhD student Telma Mendes, her thesis supervisor Prof. Miguel González-Loureiro, and Prof. Carina Silva, former PhD student in the same team, has obtained the highest award at the ACEDE-2023 International Congress.
His work, nominated in 3 award categories, addresses how going international very early changes the direction of the causal relationship between internationalization and profitability, being different for a company that goes international in the first year compared to a company that goes international after the second year. This will help managers to focus their management efforts on the variable identified as the cause in each case and perform better in the first five years of internationalization.
